29-year-old Martavious Payne was charged with domestic assault, aggravated assault, and child abuse when he began arguing with the mother of his 9-year-old son then assaulted them by strangling her and hitting him in the face.
On July 4th, a little after 8 am Officers Carpenter and Holden arrived at 3021 Egan Drive and spoke to the victim of an aggravated assault, Alisha Carter. She said that she and her child’s father Martavious Payne were arguing but he became angry and started to strangle her in the bathroom.
After strangling Carter enough for her to say that her breathing was impeded he then grabbed his son by the shirt. He slung him and hit him in the face leaving small scratches and a bruise on his cheek. Police confirmed Payne’s identity when the victims were shown a picture of him that they positively identified as the man who assaulted them.
Martavious Payne was arrested and charged with domestic assault, aggravated assault, and child abuse and neglect. His bond was set at $5,000.
