Man strangles girlfriend causing her to crash into utility pole

26-year-old Fadarious Richardson was charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment when he strangled and punched his girlfriend causing her to drive into a utility pole.

On August 23rd, Deputy Stafford responded to a domestic violence simple assault at 4810 Austin Peay Highway. Deputies made contact with Jessica Williams who stated that she was involved in a crash as a direct result of her boyfriend, Fadarious Richardson, assaulting her. Jessica was transported to Baptist East Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the accident. Deputy Stafford performed a follow-up at the hospital for further investigation.

Jessica further explained that she was driving Fadarious home when a verbal argument became physical. She stated that Fadarious began punching her and put his hands around her neck attempting to strangle her as she was driving. When she tried to stop him from choking her, she swerved off the road and struck a utility pole at Austin Peay Hwy and Covington Pike.

Fadarious Richardson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. His bond was set at $50,000.
