Memphis woman shoots at ex-boyfriend’s wife and kids

23-year-old Meleah Fields was charged with four counts of aggravated assault when she shot into her ex-boyfriend’s vehicle after an argument with him about getting his belongings.

On August 23rd, Joseph Jones, his wife Shirley Jones, and two children went to retrieve his belongings from his ex-girlfriend Meleah Fields at her home located at 3129 Edgeware Road. Joseph and Meleah got into a verbal altercation and she refused to let him get his belongings.

As he was getting ready to leave, Meleah went inside and retrieved a 9 mm, semi-automatic handgun. Meleah then shot once into the front windshield of Joseph’s 2005 Ford Expedition. The bullet struck the front side where Shirley was sitting. The children were in the backseat. Officer Bogan and Officer Harris responded to the call where they retrieved the black and purple 9 mm semi-auto handgun which was tagged as evidence. Meleah was transported to the Felony Response office where she admitted to firing the shot.

Meleah Fields was arrested and charged with four counts of aggravated assault. Her bond was set at $25,000.
