Traffic stop for a broken brake light unveils revoked licenses, marijuana, and cocaine

26-year-old Jermandalon Dodson and 46-year-old Torries Williams were charged with possession of cocaine and paraphernalia after a traffic stop for a broken brake light lead to police finding the drugs inside the vehicle.

On August 13th, Detective Orlando saw a Saturn Outlook with the driver’s side brake light out on I-40 West. Detectives Thompson and Hunt arrived to aid Orlando. Upon being stopped, driver Torries Williams told police he lacked his ID, and that there was a silver container containing marijuana in the vehicle. Police found William’s license had been revoked on October 3rd, 2013.

Passenger Jermandalon Dodson, at the time of arrest, had an active warrant for evading arrest, reckless driving, and driving on a suspended license. Authorities found a folded dollar bill in Dodson’s wallet containing a white powder that tested positive for cocaine and weighed a total of 2.9 grams. Detective Hunt found the silver container containing a total of 5.8 grams of marijuana.

Jermandalon Dodson was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $1,000.

Torries Williams was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, improper lighting on vehicle, and possession of cocaine and paraphernalia. His bond was set at $1,000.
