Dawn said that when Marjorie finally let her go she immediately called the police, at which point her wife noticed, cocked the gun, and threatened to kill her. When officers arrived they restrained Marjorie and she signed a consent to search. The officer found a loaded black Canik handgun in the bedroom which matched the description given by Dawn. Mrs. James-Williams had scratches on her chest, arms, neck, and throat as well as bruising on her neck and throat. She said she was unable to breathe when Marjorie had her on the couch and she feared for her safety.

Marjorie Williams was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. She was later released on her own recognizance.
