Memphis man returns to friend’s house after visit to rob and kidnap him

29-year-old George Davis was charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping after he returned to his friend’s home after a visit and demanded money, forced him to drive around, and then took $800 from his wallet.

On September 1st, Frederick Lloyd was returning to the side door of his residence located at 1501 Frayser Boulevard from emptying the trash when George Davis approached him, pulled out a knife, and put it towards his neck. Once inside the residence, Lloyd was forced to sit on the couch while Davis stood over him screaming for him to give him money.

Davis made Lloyd go outside and get into Lloyd’s 2018 Chevy Malibu. Davis then forced Lloyd to drive him to the intersection of Claybrook Street and Popular Avenue. Davis grabbed Lloyd’s wallet out of the center console and took $800. Davis then exited the Malibu and walked into an unknown direction.

Lloyd then drove back to his residence and called the police. Memphis Police officers located George Davis at Kroger located at 1366 Popular Avenue. Neither the knife nor wallet was retrieved. Lloyd identified Davis from a photo lineup and told police that Lloyd had been to his home earlier that evening.

George Davis was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping. His bond was set at $75,000.
