19-year-old Kendravious Thomas was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent, possession of a firearm during a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia when he was found with 33.4 grams of marijuana and a rifle.
On September 2nd, Detective Mills responded to a narcotics violation at 1586 South Trezevant Street. The Multi-Agency Gang Unit Detectives received an anonymous tip that multiple people were sitting in vehicles while armed with guns in front of said residence. Upon arrival, Detective Schexnaildre witnessed an unidentified male exit from the front right passenger door of the GMC Yukon and run into 2362 Arlington Avenue through the side door. Detectives Mills and Carruth noticed the right rear door open and Kendravious Thomas started to quickly exit the vehicle. As they approached Thomas, Mills observed a rifle sitting vertically between the rear passenger seats.
Detectives reported that they smelled a very strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle as well as from Thomas himself. Detective Carruth recovered two bags of marijuana totaling 33.4 grams from Thomas’s pants pocket. Detective Mills utilized American Detection Canine Association certified K9 Mambo who entered the vehicle and gave a positive alert for the presence of narcotics on the front cupholder and on a backpack in the rear seats. Detective Mills recovered from the cupholder, a digital scale, three 5.56 rifle rounds, and a small bag of marijuana weighing at 3.9 grams as well as a digital scale and plastic baggies from the backpack. Thomas was read his rights and refused to answer any questions.
Kendravious Thomas was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture/deliver/sell, possession of a firearm during an attempt to commit a dangerous felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $3,000 bond.
