77-year-old James Thompson and 26-year-old Tashae George were charged with domestic assault causing bodily harm after he threatened to “beat her ass” and she attacked him, per the affidavit.
On September 12th, Memphis Police Officer Clark was dispatched to 791 Ledbetter Street in regards to a simple domestic assault. James Thompson explained that he was laying in bed when his granddaughter, Tashae George attacked him, scratching his forehead in the process.

She told the officer that James started yelling he was “going to beat her ass” and then attempted to hit her with his wooden cane so she hit him several times. Due to conflicting stories from both parties, they were both taken into custody. Tashae and James both denied medical attention.
James Thompson and Tashae George were charged with domestic assault. They were both released on their own recognizance.
