Woman punches husband in the head over control of electronic devices

29-year-old Denecia Richard was charged with domestic assault after coming home and punching her husband in the head over who was in control of the TV and computer.

On August 29th, Deputies Malone and Nutall were dispatched to 5535 Oak Branch Circle South for a domestic situation. Denecia Richard was having a verbal altercation with her husband, Brandon Richard, which turned physical. Brandon said he was sitting on the couch using his computer and watching television with his father, Reginald Richard. Denecia came home and they were all watching TV together, but started arguing over Brandon watching TV and using the computer at the same time. Denecia became irate and started yelling at him over who was in control over the TV and computer, pointing out his unemployment.

She told Brandon to “get out of her house.” He got up from the couch and went to the kitchen table, where Denecia approached him and hit him in the head. According to Denecia, Brandon said, “I’m going to take care of this the right way” and called the police. At which point, she started putting his things outside. Reginald had been in the bathroom during the argument but came out in time to witness Denecia punch Brandon in the head. No visible injuries were observed and Brandon refused medical attention.

Denecia Richard was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She was later released on her own recognizance.
