25-year-old Anthony Butler was charged with aggravated assault after his girlfriend told police that he punched her in her arm then strangled her after a disagreement.
On October 11th, Memphis Police Officer Davenport responded to a domestic call at Motel 6, room 215, located at 210 South Pauline Street. Rosa Diop told Officer Davenport that she was assaulted by Anthony Butler, her boyfriend, during an argument.
Diop stated that Butler struck her with his fist in her arm then put his hands around her neck and strangled her. Diop told Officer Davenport that Butler had assaulted her multiple times. Diop signed a hold harmless form and a domestic violence questionnaire.
Anthony Butler was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $7,500 bond.
