Baby daddy charged after hitting woman in the face when she asks him to leave

31-year-old Edward Reed was charged with domestic assault causing bodily harm after getting into an altercation with his child’s mother because she brought up how much he had been drinking, per report.

On November 15th, Memphis Police Officers Mosely and Joyner responded to a domestic violence call at the Keystone Landing Apartments, located at 4312 Ridgestone Drive. While checking a shots fired call at the front of the complex, Officer Joyner observed several other subjects around Edward Reed advising him to leave. They also saw his child’s mother, Sabrina Veasley, and her sister, Adrienne Lewis. After they advised the officers that Edward just assaulted Sabrina, Edward was detained.

Per Sabrina’s account, Edward had been in her apartment intoxicated for the last couple of hours. When she brought up his drinking, an argument started. She asked him to leave, but he refused and began to beat her about the face, pull her hair, and pull her shirt. Adrienne stated that she attempted to break up the fight once it started and the two were able to get Edward out of the apartment. Edward then started to bang on the windows outside. The surrounding neighbors then came out to tell him to leave. Officers observed smudges on the windows, believed to be from him, and a torn shirt collar on Sabrina, but no visible injuries. Per Edward’s account, Sabrina started to hit and scratch him because she did not like how he was talking to their child. There were visible markings on Reed’s lip, but he refused any medical attention.

Edward Reed was charged with domestic assault with threat to bodily harm. He was later released on a $4,500 bond.
