Man busts girlfriend’s head into TV for going through his phone

36-year-old Byron Watkins was charged with domestic assault and vandalism after he flipped over his ex-girlfriend’s tables and smashed her head into a TV for going through his phone.

On November 2nd, Memphis Police Officer Majors responded to an assault call at the residence of 2968 Brandale Street. Upon arrival, Geronda Hibbler advised she had been in an argument with her ex-boyfriend, Byron Watkins. She stated he came over to her house when she went through his phone, causing an argument and angering him.

She reported Watkins flipped the tables over, shoved her down to the ground, and pushed her head into her TV. Hibbler informed Officer Majors she fled the scene when she called the police and upon arrival at their precinct, the officer identified Watkins attempting to take a report himself.

Byron Watkins was arrested and charged with domestic assault and vandalism. He was later released on his own recognizance.
