Intoxicated woman assaults boyfriend during argument about him cheating

27-year-old Selina Broome was charged with domestic assault after she bit and scratched her boyfriend during an argument over his infidelity.

On November 1st, Memphis Police Officers Hill and Thayer responded to a domestic call at a Shell gas station on 2962 Poplar Avenue. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Justin Haynes, who advised he got into an argument over his infidelity with his drunk girlfriend, Selina Broome. He reported they were at an Exxon on Danny Thomas Boulevard when Selina started biting and hitting him.

He stated she then began driving their Dodge Grand Caravan down Poplar Avenue at 100 mph, still hitting and scratching him. Justin admitted he grabbed Selina by her hair and tried to pull the emergency brake to no avail until she finally stopped at the Shell station. When he exited the vehicle, he witnessed Selina jump out of the van and run away barefoot.

The clerk confirmed Justin ran inside the gas station, requesting to call the police. Upon further investigation, officers reported Selina walking on Poplar Avenue and Marne Street, holding her side and trying to hitchhike. She claimed Justin attacked her but informed officers she pulled his hair first because she was angry.

Selina Broome was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She was later released on a $15,000 bond.
