Man strangles baby momma over visitation feud

27-year-old Javontis Pettis was charged with domestic assault after he punched and strangled his children’s mother when she told him he could not see his kids anymore, per report.

On November 14th, Memphis Police Officer Anderson arrived at the residence of Dominique Jones, located at 3061 Seminole Road, in response to a domestic violence call. Jones advised that her babies’ father, Javontis Pettis, came to her house unexpectedly and became angry when she told him he could not see his kids anymore.

She stated that he locked her out of the house and she was only let back in when her friend opened the back door. Jones reported Pettis punched her into the wall and strangled her but she did not lose consciousness. Pettis was still on the premises when the police arrived and he was taken into custody.

Javontis Pettis was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was released on a $1,000 bond.
