20-year-old Marico Cooper was charged with domestic assault after he punched his girlfriend in the face and attempted to hide from the police.
On October 30th, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputy Hankins responded to an assault call at the residence of 6276 Martinwest Drive. Upon arrival, Brandy Parks reported Marico Cooper punched her in the face and head.
Parks informed Deputy Hankins she was brought to the residence a week ago by Cooper’s mother. The deputy noted bruising under her right eye and a lump near the center of her head. Parks advised that Cooper was still in the house, hiding from the police. Cooper was not found inside but was later discovered hiding in the shed behind the house, per report.
Marico Cooper was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was later released on a $1,000 bond.
