28-year-old Markesha Echols was charged with two counts of aggravated assault after opening fire on her family for telling her husband about another man calling.
On November 8th at 4:10 A.M., Memphis Police officers responded to an armed party call at Markesha’s residence of 3342 Walloon Drive where victim Lederius Dunlap stated that he and his girlfriend, Peyton McChristin, were fired upon in bed by Markesha, who is his cousin. He continued on, saying that Markesha’s husband offered for him and Peyton to live with them.
According to Lederius, Markesha was upset at him for telling her husband that there was another man calling for her. She told the couple to leave, but they informed her that her husband allowed them to stay. Markesha reportedly grabbed her gun and fired out the window near them, but neither got up to leave. Per the affidavit, she then shot at both Lederius and Peyton stating that the next shot “would be in their ass.” Lederius then called the police.
Markesha was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault. She was later released on a $30,000 bond.
