27-year-old Tavin Askew was charged with domestic assault after he pushed his girlfriend and threw her things down the stairs during an argument about her moving to Texas with their children, police say.

On November 20th, Shelby County Sheriff Deputies Upchurch and Blackwell arrived at the residence of Tavin Askew, located at 4807 Royal Run Drive, in response to a domestic violence call. According to the affidavit, Symone Washington advised that she and her boyfriend, Tavin Askew, got into an argument about her moving back to Texas with their two children.

She reported Askew pushed her, causing scratches to the right side of her face, and threw her clothes as well as other belongings down the stairs. However, according to Askew, there was no argument between them, and Washington only argued with herself about whether to move or not. Due to the evidence at the scene, the officers deemed Askew as the primary aggressor.

Tavin Askew was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was released on his own recognizance.
