Man hits wife and pushes stepdaughter when he gets upset about a utility bill

44-year-old Charles Buckmaster was charged with two counts of domestic assault after his wife reported to police that he got angry, hit her, and pushed her daughter over a utility bill.

On December 9th Shelby County Deputy Deaton was dispatched to 12811 Longmire Loop South for a simple assault call. Upon arrival, contact was made with Kristi Buckmaster who stated her husband, Charles Buckmaster, became irate when she went to him to talk about the utility bill.

Kristi stated Charles then got out of bed and grabbed her by the collar of her shirt and then began to hit her. Kristi’s daughter then entered the bedroom and attempted to stop Charles but he pushed her to the floor. Nina Burchfiel, a witness, stated Charles attempted to grab his step-daughter as she ran away. Deputies did notice Kristi’s left collar of her shirt was torn and had stretch marks also there was a small scrape on the middle of her neck below her chin.

Charles Buckmaster was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic assault. He was later released on his own recognizance.
