Man points gun at boss over scheduling dispute

46-year-old Mohamed Ibrahim was charged with aggravated assault after he admitted to pointing a handgun at the owner of North Memphis Market and firing it in the air.

On November 27th, Memphis Police officers responded to an assault call at the North Memphis Market, located at 1590 Vollintine Avenue. Upon arrival, the owner, Akeila Alasabi, stated she got into an argument with Mohamed Ibrahim about the scheduling. She reported Mohamed pointed a handgun at her, making her fear for her life, and then fired one shot in the air.

The officers detained Mohamed and found a black and chrome Kel-Tec 9mm handgun and one shell casing on the scene. There was video surveillance that confirmed Akeila’s statements and, later that day, Mohamed gave a statement where he admitted to the assault.

Mohamed Ibrahim was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $2,500 bond.
