20-year-old Jonathan Jackson was charged with aggravated assault and vandalism after he reportedly fired several shots at his ex-roommate’s car, causing $4,289.09 worth of damage.
On October 31st, Memphis Police Officers McDunn and Cunningham received a report from Crystal Brooks at the residence of 6075 Summer Trace Drive. She stated that she was in her bedroom with her boyfriend, Jeremy Bryant, while her ex-roommate, Jonathan Jackson, moved his belongings out of her apartment. She reported she and Jeremy heard a gunshot, and when they entered the living room, Jonathan was walking back into the apartment with his AR-15 rifle. According to Crystal, Jonathan denied shooting the gun, and as she went outside, she witnessed her front driver’s side tire hissing air and becoming flat.
She advised she went inside to get some of his things, and as she exited back out, Jonathan was walking away from her Hyundai Elantra. Crystal stated he told her to move away from her car, and when she refused, he shot at the back window. Per the report, Jonathan then pointed his rifle at her, said “I’m about that life,” and proceeded to fire his weapon at the driver’s side twice more. There was a total of $4,289.09 worth of damage from the flat front tires, rear window, rear fender, and driver’s side rear door.
On November 24th, Jonathan Jackson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and vandalism. He was released on a $20,000 bond.
