37-year-old Fatina Hewitt was caught with a firearm at the Memphis International Airport on March 15th. TSA staff observed an image of a firearm in a passenger’s bag. Airport police identified the firearm and confirmed it was inside the bag. Hewitt claimed ownership of the bag and told officers she was unaware of the firearm and that it did not belong to her. Officers were contacted by Hewitts’ probation officer, who stated that she was a felon and could not be in possession of a firearm. Hewitt was taken into custody for unlawful possession of a firearm.
Fatina Hewitt of Bradwood Memphis, TN, was booked into the Shelby County Jail on May 7th, charged with unlawful possession of a weapon. She was released on her own Recognizance.
