54-year-old Kimberly Kidd was charged with domestic assault for attacking her husband after having a flashback about an affair from 15 years ago.
In the early morning hours of February 28th, Deputy Hayward responded to a call about a simple assault on Bedford Cove. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with James Kidd outside of the residence and immediately noticed blood around his nose and on his clothes.
James told police that he and Kimberly, his wife of 30 years, had been drinking alcoholic beverages. He stated that roughly 45 minutes prior, Kimberly attacked him for no reason in their living room by pushing him in the back and causing him to fall and hit his face on the floor.
Kimberly told deputies she attacked James because she had a flashback about an affair from 15 years ago. According to the report, officers noted the observation that both parties had been drinking, they have a long history of domestic violence and arrests, and that James refused medical treatment and the hold harmless waiver.
Kimberly Kidd was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault. She was later released on her own recognizance.
