Couple booked after shooting at Waffle House

22-year-old Marshaye Traylor was charged with the facilitation of aggravated assault and 22-year-old Ronald Traylor was charged with aggravated assault and violation of bond conditions after a shooting that occurred at a Parkway Village Waffle House.

On June 19th, officers were dispatched to the Waffle House located on 4276 American Way. Upon arrival, law enforcement made contact with Montoyous Hampton and Alexandria Fields, who informed officers that they had been involved in a dispute with Ronald and Marshaye Traylor. Earlier in the day, Hampton and Fields were inside a Waffle House restaurant when the Traylors – accompanied by their two children – entered the business. According to the affidavit, Marshaye Traylor and Hampton were once involved in a romantic relationship.

Shortly after the family came into the restaurant, Hampton reportedly aimed a handgun at Ronald Traylor and demanded the quartet vacate the premises. The family proceeded to exit the business and entered their vehicle to dine elsewhere. According to the affidavit, Hampton began to follow the family as they drove away. Once Hampton reached the vehicle at the intersection of American Way and Perkins Rd, multiple shots were fired at the car with the family inside.

Hampton stated that Ronald Traylor returned to the Waffle House in the same vehicle later on and opened fire at Hampton. Following the shooting, the Traylors fled the scene and law enforcement was contacted. Damage was sustained to Hampton’s Hyundai Escape, a bullet striking the front windshield of the SUV. All four parties provided accounts of the incident at the Family Safety Center, resulting in Hampton and the two Traylor’s being placed into custody for aggravated assault.

Further investigation revealed that Ronald Traylor was charged with domestic assault for a February incident. Traylor was released from custody with bail conditions, prohibiting Marshaye to be in contact with him and barring his possession of firearms. The conditions were put in place until August 14th, resulting in Traylor being charged with a violation of bond conditions.

Marshaye Traylor was arrested and charged with the facilitation of aggravated assault. She was later released on her own recognizance.

Ronald Traylor was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and violation of bond conditions. His bond was set at $10,000.
