Memphis woman pepper sprays other driver in accident, strikes two others with golf club

32-year-old Cecilia Williams was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, burglary of a motor vehicle, and vandalism after pepper-spraying a woman during an accident they were involved in. She also struck two women with a golf club during the same incident, per report.

On June 21st, Officers Hobbs and Blessenberger were dispatched to 3742 Pershing Park in regards to an altercation. Upon arrival, law enforcement made contact with two individuals who had been involved in an accident. According to the affidavit, the two parties were in an argument following the crash. During the dispute, Cecilia Williams, one of the women involved, shot pepper spray into the face of Nakeisha Powell. Powell proceeded to retreat to her apartment building after being sprayed.

Williams reportedly broke out the windows of Powell’s Nissan Altima while the woman was inside the residence, according to eyewitnesses NaQuasha Cane and Tamara Elliott. Elliott additionally advised that Williams entered the sedan and stole items from inside. Powell returned to the scene of the accident accompanied by Jerrica Williams, who was then struck with a golf club by Williams. The duo sustained noticeable injuries from the attack. Powell suffered from an open wound to the head, while Williams required medical transport to Methodist University Hospital from the assault.

All but one of the Altima’s windows had been destroyed, the front windshield was only damaged. The estimated total of the attack on the sedan was valued at $2,000. Powell and Cane were able to identify stolen property from the Altima located in Williams’ Chrysler 300.

Cecilia Williams was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, burglary of a motor vehicle, and vandalism. Her bond was set at $10,000.
