22-year-old Dylan Leggette was charged with reckless driving, theft of property, and unlawful possession of a weapon, while 22-year-old Kobe Chillers and 21-year-old Darrious Harris were charged with unlawful possession of a weapon. The trio was charged after a traffic stop revealed three illegal weapons inside the vehicle.
On June 28th, officers noticed a Dodge Durango traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving throughout traffic, per report. Law enforcement proceeded to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle at Peabody Pl. Upon approach to the SUV, detectives observed all three parties inside the vehicle attempting to conceal items. The three individuals – who were later identified as Dylan Leggette, Kobe Chillers, and Darrious Harris – were apprehended and a search on the Durango was initiated.

Detective Gooch began the search by locating an American Tactical Omni assault rifle at the feet of Harris. Recovered alongside the rifle was a magazine containing at least 30 rounds. According to the affidavit, Gooch additionally discovered a Mossberg .22 caliber long rifle within arm’s reach of Chillers. On the seat closest to Chillers was two fully-loaded magazines and a magazine case with extra ammunition.
Between the driver’s seat and center console, Gooch found a brown Kel-Tec PMR-30 pistol. A check of the handgun revealed the weapon to be stolen in May of 2020. The pistol’s value was estimated to be $499. Further investigation disclosed that neither Leggette, Harris, nor Chillers had lawful permits for the weapons in question. Officers later discovered a tray containing additional ammunition inside the vehicle. The Durango was towed to the city lot, while all three parties provided a statement and were placed into custody for their respective charges.
Dylan Leggette was charged with reckless driving, theft of property, and unlawful possession of a weapon. His bond was set at $3,000.
Kobe Chillers and Darrious Harris were charged with unlawful possession of a weapon. They were both later released on their own recognizance.
