Duo jailed after being caught with stolen property

33-year-old Lisa Pettit was charged with burglary and theft of property and 44-year-old James Marshall was charged with burglary, theft of property, and vandalism when Jesus Medin witnessed them leaving his home with his items.

On July 20th, Officers Buchanan and Tankersley were dispatched to a non-residential burglary at 1075 Waring Street. Jesus Medin stated his residence was vandalized and that his garage was had been broken into and someone had taken his blue and white bike along with a set of sockets. He also stated that when he arrived home he heard several noises coming from his garage.

He then looked outside his window and saw Lisa Pettit and James Marshall coming from his garage with his things. Medin then followed them while calling the police. Officers were able to detain Pettit and Marshall at the intersection of Macon Road and Waring Street. Marshall was caught with the socket set and Pettit was in possession of the bike. Medin confirmed on the scene that the property was his. After being transported to Tillman Gang Investigation Bureau, Pettit admitted taking the bike and socket set.

Lisa Pettit was arrested and charged with burglary and theft of property and she is jailed in lieu of a $2,500 bond.

James Marshall was arrested and charged with burglary, theft of property, and vandalism. He is jailed in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
