Man ambushes lover in motel parking lot, kidnaps and threatens to kill her multiple times

53-year-old Laurone Jones was charged with domestic assault, aggravated assault by strangulation, and aggravated kidnapping when he ambushed his lover at a motel and drove her around against her will for an hour while threatening to kill her.

On July 1st, deputies were called to a kidnapping/abduction at 3645 Canada Road. According to an affidavit, Leslie Walls explained to officers that she was dropping a friend off at the Relax-Inn when Laurone Jones snuck up and attacked her. She advised that she was entering her Ford F150 when he shoved her in and hit her. A struggle ensued and Jones bit Walls’ face and strangled her to the point where she could not breathe. Jones then threatened that he had a knife in his pocket at which time Walls became compliant.

Jones forced his way into the vehicle and proceeded to drive, against her will, for an hour, threatening many times to end her life. Eventually, Jones went back to the motel and exited the truck, Leslie Walls then drove directly to Baptist East Emergency Room. Laurone Jones was located at 2208 Lake Hill Court and the report confirms he did have a knife in his front pants pocket as Walls had claimed. After being detained Jones complained of chest pain and was taken to Regional One for medical care.

Laurone Jones was arrested and charged with domestic assault, aggravated assault by strangulation, and aggravated kidnapping. He is jailed in lieu of a $30,000 bond.
