Memphis woman causes $1,200 in damage to ex-boyfriend’s car and threatens to kill him

30-year-old Melody Jones was charged with aggravated assault and vandalism after causing over $1,200 in damages to her ex-boyfriend’s car and threatening to kill him with a knife, per report.

On July 31st, Officers were dispatched to a disturbance at 3311 Southern Avenue. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Damien Brown who stated that his ex-girlfriend, Melody Jones, showed up at his home unannounced and began to damage his 1998 Lexus. Damien advised that he confronted Jones and she turned on him and began to chase him while welding a knife and a pair of scissors.

She also repeatedly threatened to kill him during the incident. Damien’s shirt was torn during the altercation, however, Damien was not injured. Officers noted that all four of his tires were flat and there were scratches on the hood and doors. There were also multiple dents on the vehicle’s body. Damien estimated the damages would cost around $1,200.

Melody Jones was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and vandalism. Her bond was set at $10,000.
