They didn’t hear it coming: Deaf couple’s argument ends in assault

66-year-old Ronald Weeks was charged with domestic assault after pushing his deaf wife to the ground after arguing with her throughout the day.

On August 14th, Deputy Foster was dispatched to 2772 Rust Avenue on a domestic assault call. Deputy Foster spoke with Dylan Wooley, who stated that he had heard a loud bump come from the rear bedroom. He went to see what was going on and found his deaf mother, Vickie Wooley, laying on the floor.

She explained to her son that when she was turning on the light her husband, Ronald Weeks, had pushed her to the ground. Ronald is also deaf and they had been arguing earlier that day. Weeks was apprehended without incident and no visible injuries were found on Vickie.

Ronald Weeks was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was later released on his own recognizance.
