Man found with ecstasy during traffic stop for illegal window tint

38-year old Samuel Danner was charged with possession of ecstasy with intent, illegal window tint, and improper display of registration after he was pulled over for sitting in a parking lot and then tried to leave when he saw officers watching him.

On September 6th, Memphis Police Department Officers K. Lampley and J. Roberts were patrolling the area of Knight Arnold Road and S. Mendenhall when they observed a silver Dodge Durango on the lot for an extended period of time at the Valero Fueling station located at 5315 Knight Arnold Road. The officers stopped the Durango on S. Mendenhall and Honeywood Lane for illegally tinted windows and improper display of registration. Upon approaching the driver’s side of the vehicle, officers smelled an odor of marijuana exiting the vehicle. Officers made contact with Danner and advised of his violations. While speaking with Danner, officers observed passenger, Jablin Williams attempting to sit on a set of scales in an attempt to conceal it from the officers.

Due to the odor of marijuana and Williams trying to conceal the scales, officers had both occupants exit the vehicle. While patting Williams down for a weapon, Officer J Roberts found a small baggie of marijuana in his front right pocket. As the officers searched the vehicle for the source of the marijuana odor, they located approximately 7 to 8 pills that were consistent with ecstasy. The pills tested positive for ecstasy with a TNW of 2.114 grams. The marijuana that was in Williams possession tested for THC with a TGW of 1.4 grams. He was given a misdemeanor citation for simple possession and drug paraphernalia.

Samuel Danner was arrested and charged with possession of ecstasy with intent, illegal window tint, and improper display of registration. His bond was set at $3,000.
