41-year-old Katisha Dixon was charged with aggravated assault and domestic assault when her other children had to intervene to stop her from strangling her juvenile daughter for being disrespectful.
On September 9th, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputy Dowdy was dispatched to investigate a report of child abuse located at 4065 Ceder Trace Cove. Deputies made contact with the juvenile victim who advised she got into a verbal altercation with her mother, Katisha Dixon. During the argument, her mother grabbed her with one hand and began strangling her while she was laying on the bed. She explained to the deputies that she was later pinned against the floor by her mother and strangled.
Each time it took all three of her juvenile siblings to get Ketisha off of the child. She then slapped her in the face. Deputies noted that the female had abrasions to her chest and chin and that the blood vessels in her eyes were visible. They spoke with Ketisha who advised that her daughter was disrespectful to her, so she “jacked her up”. However, she claimed that she did not choke or slap her daughter.
Katisha Dixon was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and domestic assault. Her bond was set at $25,000.
