Woman attempts to “sacrifice” her mother; charged with aggravated assault

18-year-old Charlesia Dodd was charged with two counts of aggravated assault after she threatened to “sacrifice” her mother and stabbed her mother’s boyfriend.

On August 30th, Memphis Police officers were dispatched to an aggravated assault at 2603 Hawkins Mill Road. Upon arrival, officers located Curtis Pilgram with a stab wound to his upper back. Officers spoke with Pilgram’s girlfriend Deanna Dodd, who stated that her daughter Charlesia Dodd came into the bedroom where she and Pilgram were sleeping and Charlesia had her arms behind her back.

Charlesia was upset and began making threats to harm Deanna, saying she was going to “sacrifice” her. Charlesia then pulled a knife from behind her back and started swinging it at Deanna. Pilgram and Deanna attempted to stop Charlesia and a struggle ensued. Charlesia stabbed Pilgram in the back with the knife during the struggle and she also bit Deanna on her right arm. Pilgram was transported to Regional One in critical condition.

Charlesia Dodd was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Her bond was set at $50,000.
