53-year-old Elton Reed was charged with domestic assault after he punched his girlfriend in the face and a shotgun was heard being cocked as a juvenile called for help.
On October 25th, Memphis Police Officers Applewhite, Perez, and Tate were dispatched to the residence at 3397 Jenkins Street due to reports of an armed party. They spoke with Talecia Bolds who was next to her daughter, China Anderson. Talecia reported she and her boyfriend, Elton Reed, got into an argument and that he was currently in her house supposedly with a shotgun. She stated that when she walked into the residence, Reed began punching her in the face.
China claimed she came to the house after she received a call from her juvenile brother who told her their mother and Reed had gotten into a dispute. She said that she heard the cocking of a shotgun over the phone and headed over to check on them. Talecia said her boyfriend never pointed the shotgun at her, but did have it in an attempt to hide it from her during the incident.
Elton Reed was arrested and charged with domestic assault causing bodily injury. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $2,000 bond.
