42-year-old Vernon King was charged with domestic assault after throwing a lawn chair at his child’s mother as she tried to leave.
On October 23rd, Memphis Police Officer Torres arrived at the residence of 1979 Goldbrier Lane in response to a domestic violence call. When officers arrived, Lashawnda Gatlin advised police her child’s father, Vernon King, was intoxicated, hostile, and assaulted her.
Gatlin stated she attempted to leave the residence in her vehicle but King chased her down the driveway. He then threatened to kill her and threw a lawn chair, striking her in her lower back.
Vernon King was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $3,500 bond.
