Organized Crime Unit pulls man over for unsecured seat belt; finds weed, ecstacy, and cocaine

28-year-old Calvin Brownlee was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, ecstasy, cocaine, and marijuana after he was pulled over for no seat belt and police gained probable cause to search his car since it smelled of marijuana inside.

On October 17th, Memphis Organized Crime Unit Detectives pulled Calvin Brownlee over at 1444 South Orleans. When they noticed him driving without his seatbelt on. When Detectives made contact with Calvin the odor of marijuana was coming from inside the vehicle. They asked for his license, Calvin produced an identification card, which showed him to have outstanding warrants.

Calvin was arrested and during the search, detectives located a bag of cocaine weighing approximately 4.7 grams, 12 ecstasy pills, and 4 bags of marijuana in his right pant pocket. A check-in the vehicle produced a black digital scale in the armrest. The vehicle, a 2008 Infiniti M35x, was towed and is pending seizure. Calvin had least than $50 in his possession which he kept when he was transported to jail.

Calvin Brownlee was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, ecstasy, cocaine, and marijuana. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
