75-year-old Archie Hurt was charged with domestic assault after he threw a brick at his brother’s head, who was only trying to put out a fire that Archie started, police reported.
On October 10th, Memphis Police Officer Moore was dispatched to 1070 Beverly Street for an assault call. Upon arrival, Archie Hurt was sitting in the driveway. Officers then made contact with Masculla Hurt who stated he was assaulted by Archie Hurt who is his brother.
It was stated that Archie had started a fire on the porch to boil some water. Archie was told to put it out because it was too close to the house and Masculla did not want him to burn it down. At this point, Archie didn’t put it out so Masculla kicked it over. Archie then Picked up a brick and threw it at Masculla head but it struck him in the ear. Reportedly, Hurt is diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.
Archie Hurt was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $2,000 bond.
