Fugitive charged after search reveals three used syringes

33-year-old Clay Ruddell was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and evading arrest after he ran from the police with three used syringes in his jacket, per report.

On November 15th, Memphis Police Officers Dunn and Acosta responded to a drug equipment violation. The officers identified Clay Ruddell standing on the side of Valero, located at 2977 Broad Avenue. According to the affidavit, when they tried to detain him, Ruddell took off on foot.

After a brief foot chase, he was located and arrested at 3063 Broad Avenue. When the officers searched Ruddell, they found three used syringes in his jacket pocket. Further investigation revealed that Ruddell had two outstanding warrants, one for vandalism and the other for domestic assault.

Clay Ruddell was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and evading arrest. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $3,500 bond.
