40-year-old Preston Woodruff was charged with aggravated kidnapping, two counts of attempted rape, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and evading arrest after reportedly kidnapping a woman, attempting to force her into oral sex, and making himself her pimp.
On November 23rd, Memphis Police Officers responded to a kidnapping call at the Circle K, located at 2133 Lamar Avenue, where a woman advised that she had been kidnapped by a pimp, Preston Woodruff, who was on the scene in a white Ford. Upon arrival, they spotted the white Ford SUV in question and approached it, and Preston reportedly sped off. Officer Huffman got behind the vehicle and initiated his blue lights to get Preston to stop, but he refused to do so. Per the affidavit, Preston was arrested in the area of Pendleton Street and Browning Avenue. Upon searching his person, officers found the identification card and debit card of the woman who called them in his pocket. They also found a clear bottle containing eight cocaine rocks with a total weight of .9 grams.
Per the woman’s account, she was stranded in the area of Lamar Avenue and Winchester Road when Preston approached her and offered her a ride to her sister’s house. She got into his vehicle and he took her behind the Cat Walk, located at 3880 Lamar Ave. He reportedly took her debit card, ID, and $10 from her purse, and told her that she did not need her ID because he was now her pimp. He then exposed his penis to her and told her to perform oral sex on him. When she refused, he punched her in the face multiple times. He then took her to an unknown apartment complex, exposed himself, and demanded oral sex again. She refused a second time, and Preston punched her in the face multiple times, once again. She was able to convince him to take her to the Circle K, and she called the police from there.
Preston Woodruff was charged with evading arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, aggravated kidnapping, possession of cocaine, and two counts of attempted rape. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
