Man blows .306 after falling asleep at the wheel and striking guardrail

27-year-old Antwon Morrison was charged with driving under the influence, public intoxication, reckless driving, and violation of financial law after reportedly passing out at the wheel and crashing into a guardrail after a night of drinking, per report.

On November 28th, Memphis Police Officers Chalk, Pennington, and Davis responded to a driving under the influence call at Plough Boulevard and Winchester Road. Per the affidavit, they observed a blue Dodge Ram that had gone off a roadway and crashed into a guardrail with Antwon Morrison passed out behind the wheel. Memphis Fire Department arrived on the scene and busted out the passenger window to give Antwon medical attention.

Antwon came to and was unaware of his surroundings. When asked for information by police, they noticed that his speech was mumbled and that he was unable to stand without assistance. He told the officers that he had been drinking the previous night. When no proof of vehicle insurance could be provided, the officers placed him into custody. Officer Stepney conducted a field sobriety test and gave Antwon a breathalyzer. His blood-alcohol content was measured at .306.

Antwon Morrison was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, public intoxication, reckless driving, and violation of financial law. He was later released on a $1,000 bond.
