Man charged after stealing baby clothes, bed comforter, and laundry detergent

45-year-old T.W. Rubin was charged with theft after reportedly stealing from multiple places and then fleeing in a vehicle with incorrect tags.

On November 24th, Memphis Police Officer Clymer responded to a shoplifting call at 3233 East Shelby Drive. Per the affidavit, a store clerk, Tiquita West, advised that a T.W. Rubin entered the store. He grabbed laundry detergent, a bed comforter, and baby clothes before leaving without paying and driving off in his white Cadillac.

On November 27th, Officers Motley and Cole initiated a traffic stop on a white 1993 Cadillac Deville with tags that came back to a 2006 Buick. The car was observed on the police Facebook page to occupy the male responsible for shoplifting at the Family Dollar located at 3315 East Shelby Drive, T.W. Rubin. A computer check showed that he had a warrant for theft out of Collierville. The total cost of the stolen items was $100.

T.W. Rubin was arrested with an existing warrant and charged with theft. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $3,500 bond.
