Brittany Johnson, mother of the two accomplices, told police that Stephens was driving her vehicle and would go looking for the missing goods. Mrs. Johnson returned with a black bag belonging to Stephens that contained $58.52 of merchandise. Smith told authorities that Stephens was previously banned from all Walmarts for multiple thefts in the past, and she would be prosecuted if she ever returned to a Walmart. The two accomplices were issued citations and released to their mother.

Kadejsha Stephens was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and theft of property. She was later released on her own recognizance.
