Frazier was advised of her rights, which she waived to give a statement. She stated that Shantaria was yelling and arguing with her family outside of their house so she fired two shots at the ground as a deterrent. She also told them she hid the gun in the backyard under some pine needles. Investigators located a pink and black .22 caliber Sig Sauer beneath pine needles, near an air-conditioning unit in Frazier’s backyard at 474 Bradcliff Cove.

Brianna Frazier was arrested and charged with felony reckless endangerment and felony unlawful possession of a weapon. She was later released on her own recognizance.
