27-year-old Jacque Adams was charged with domestic assault and resisting arrest after he shoved his girlfriend’s head into the floor and threw a baby gate at officers during their attempt to detain him.
On September 5th, Officer Vaughan and Officer Gray responded to a simple assault at 3115 Radford Road. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Georgia Winston who stated she was assaulted by her boyfriend. Winston told police Jacque Adams came to the residence upset she was not answering the phone. According to Winston, Adams put his hands around her neck, forced her to the floor, and began shoving her head to the floor.
Once Adams stopped and went into the bedroom, Winston was able to contact the police. Officers located Adams in the bedroom and attempted to detain him. During this process, Adams began to pull away from officers and reach toward the foot of the bed. A struggle ensued due to Adams ignoring officers’ commands. Adams got ahold of a baby gate and swung it towards the officers. The officers were eventually able to gain control and place Adams under arrest. Three of Winston’s children were present during this incident. This is also not the first time a domestic occurrence has taken place at this location. During a search in the system for Adams, it was discovered he had several warrants.
Jacque Adams was arrested and charged with domestic assault and resisting official detention. His bond was set at $10,000.
