Man pushes girlfriend when she attempts to collect her things during separation

37-year-old Andrew Ackerman was charged with domestic assault after he became irate and pushed his girlfriend while she was attempting to collect her things, per report.

On November 9th, Shelby County Deputies Cook, Knipper, and SiriMartinez were dispatched to 7697 Krosp Road for a simple assault call. Upon arrival, contact was made with Sybil Burton and Jamie Osburn. According to the affidavit, Jamie was assaulted by her boyfriend, Andrew Ackerman, when she came to the residence to grab her and her son’s belongings. She advised that she and Andrew were in the process of separating. Per the report, Andrew became irate and when Jamie entered the bedroom he pushed her and then slammed the bedroom door shut. Sybil tried to force the door open but Andrew pushed her down into the hallway.

Andrew stated he did become upset but denied pushing her. Deputies did not find any sign of physical injury and Jamie refused medical attention. Through the course of the investigation, Andrew was determined to be the primary aggressor. Jamie filled out a Hold Harmless Form and Andrew was taken into custody.

Andrew Ackerman was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was released on a $1,000 bond.
