27-year-old Jessica French was charged with two counts of domestic assault after she bit her girlfriend’s hand when she refused to give back her things until she received her phone.
On November 14th, Memphis Police Officer Brown and Officer Sutton were dispatched to the Budget Host Inn and Suites located at 2745 Airways Boulevard in response to a domestic disturbance. Per the report, Renee Meredith told officers that her girlfriend, Jessica French, assaulted her when she came to the Budget Host Inn to return items that belonged to French and to retrieve her cell phone. Meridith refused to return the items to French until law enforcement arrived and she got her phone back which caused French to become angry.
French began yelling at her and reached into Meridith’s car through the back window, grabbed her arm, and bit her left hand. A police computer check showed that French had an active warrant and she was taken into custody. Officers had Meridith complete domestic violence hold harmless and lethality screen.
Jessica French was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic assault with bodily harm and two counts of violation of probation. She is currently jailed in lieu of a $21,000 bond.
