34-year-old Lara Brocklehurst was charged with domestic assault after she threw an ashtray at her mother and threatened to burn the house down with her mother in it, per report.
On November 14th, Memphis Police Officer Shiels responded to 281 Looney Avenue about a possible domestic violence call. Complainant Lewis Merritt called the police stating that Cindy Maruca was in fear for her life. According to the officer’s report, Cindy Maruca was afraid to speak to officers until she had walked three blocks away from the residence. Maruca stated to the officers that she feared that her life was in danger when it came to her daughter, Lara Brocklehurst.
According to Maruca, Brocklehurst had thrown an ashtray at her the night before and threatened to burn the house down with her in it. She further stated that Brocklehurst had assaulted her before in the state of New Jersey. Brocklehurst was taken into custody without incident.
Lara Brocklehurst was arrested and charged with domestic assault causing bodily harm. She is currently in jail in lieu of a $1,000 bond.
