26-year-old Daniel Downs was charged with domestic assault and theft of property after he stole $225 from his ex-girlfriend, threw Cheetos at her head, and began punching her in the face and chest before pushing her out of the car, per report.
On January 13th, Mary Latham reported that her ex-boyfriend, Daniel Downs, stole around $225.00 from her purse and then attacked her while in the parking lot of Walgreens on Summer Avenue. Mary told police that after Daniel stole her money she asked what he was doing and he responded, “What are you gonna do about it?” Daniel then began throwing Cheetos at her head and followed that up by punching her in the face, chest, and arms, according to Mary.
Mary attempted to defend herself by fighting back, but Daniel grabbed her by her arms and threw her out of the parked vehicle they were in. Mary stated when she fell to the ground, she hit her elbow which caused severe pain. She also said that she hit her lower back and the back of her head on the concrete when she fell. Police did observe a redness to her face and elbow at the time of the report. Mary positively identified Daniel on a photo ID form the next day.
On March 27th, Daniel Downs was arrested and charged with domestic assault and theft of property. His bond was set at $3,000.
