19-year-old Cesar Garcia was charged with domestic assault after beating his father during a conversation about him having drugs.
On September 18th, Officers Samuels, Taylor, and Lavery of the Memphis Police Department responded to a domestic violence call at 1566 Russwood. Zerafin Ramirez told Officer Taylor that he was talking to his son Cesar Garcia about having drugs on his person. Garcia became irate and began to beat him with balled fists.
Ramirez stated that his son had recently been released from a drug rehabilitation program. Officers had Ramirez complete a hold harmless form at the scene. Memphis Fire Department treated both Ramirez and Garcia. Officers took photos of Ramirez’s bruises and abrasions.
Cesar Garcia was arrested and charged with domestic assault causing bodily harm. He was later released on his own recognizance.
