Gun-totting man threatens to kill girlfriend by pointing it in her face

43-year-old Joshua Cleveland was charged with aggravated assault when he struck his girlfriend, chased her down, and pointed a handgun at her over a squabble.

On October 17th, Memphis Police Officer Quinn responded to a residence located at 2976 Oakland Hill Cove for a domestic disturbance. Amy Farris told officers that her boyfriend Joshua Cleveland and she had gotten into a quarrel. Farris stated that Cleveland got a handgun, threatened to kill her, and pointed the gun at her face. Cleveland chased Farris when she ran from him.

According to Farris, Cleveland pusher her down and hit her in the back of the head with his fist. Johnathan King and Ashley McDaniel witnessed Cleveland point the gun at Farris and threaten to kill her. Officers recovered a .22 caliber handgun. Reportedly, Farris was left with a bruise on her left elbow.

Joshua Cleveland was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault. He is currently in Shelby County jail in lieu of a $7,500 bond.
