23-year-old Jonie Bowen was one of several females who were congregating, waving at passersby in front of The Southeast Motel, which is on the Attorney General’s No Trespass Program due to being known for violent crimes, prostitution, and illegal narcotic distribution, during the evening hours of October 20th. Officer Tulo responded to a complaint call regarding the possibility of numerous female sex workers at Lamar Avenue. Upon arrival, Officer Tulo activated his blue lights and was able to detain Bowen after a short foot pursuit. Bowen denied occupying a room at the Southeast Motel and was observed to be wearing black see-through lingerie, exposing her body parts to the public, as she loitered. Bowen told officers that she was previously charged with the manifestation of prostitution in Dallas, Texas. Officers placed Bowen in custody for criminal trespassing, evading arrest, prostitution, and indecent exposure.
34-year-old Erin Brasfield was charged with possession of Fentanyl after she was reportedly seen walking from a semi-truck in a high prostitution area and found to have an out of state warrant and .2 grams of Fentanyl on her person.
30-year-old Shantarian Smith, 34-year-old Darcel Hinds, 33-year-old Melissa Jones, 42-year-old Petrina Green, 38-year-old Claudette Chatman, 29-year-old Brittany Thompson, and 28-year-old Alexandria Bell were all caught in a prostitution sting that was conducted by the MPD around various parts of the city known for drugs and prostitution.
19-year-old Cedric Williamson was charged with trafficking sex and promoting prostitution of a 16-year-old girl. This was all due to a phone call made from the victim’s mother, who stated that she was held against her will and physically abused.
32-year-old Keisha Diggs and 53-year-old Charles McCadney were both charged with trespass by motor vehicle. Keisha was additionally charged with prostitution and Charles was additionally charged with patronizing prostitution after police found Keisha performing a sex act on Charles in a car behind a building on Lamar Avenue.
